After the distribution of maize and vegetable seeds and fertilizer to farmers in Adamawa and Yobe states at the beginning of the 2017 rainy season, CISCOPE with the support of FAO have distributed cowpea to farmers in communities in the above mentioned states.

The rainy season has come and it is going, giving way for the dry season, and farmers in the north-east have begun to record their gains and count their blessings.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) with the assistance of various international partners embarked on the Rainy season Agricultural inputs distribution to crisis affected population in the entire North East Nigeria, in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

lassa 01NIGERIA JOINT RESPONSE II:  A RESPONSE TO THE PLIGHT OF INHABITANTS AFFECTED BY INSURGENCY IN THE NORTH EAST.

The Nigeria Joint Response II (NJR II) is a program funded by some international partners to respond to the aftermath of the violent religious extremism that rocked the North East. The program began in 2015 and ended in May 2017. The climax of activities includes distribution of fertilizer, distribution of micro nutrient powder (MNP), and cash disbursement in Borno and Adamawa states.

Under the UNDP Livelihood and Economic Recovery Program in the North East, able bodied young men and women who engage in some form of community work like cleaning public places as seen in the picture below, are paid under the Cash for work scheme (cfw).market snitation 1

 
Inhabitants, mostly the old and other vulnurable beneficiaries, of Barkin Dlaka community in Michika LGA, Adamawa state receiving cash under the UNDP Livelihood and Economic Recovery Program implemented by CISCOPE, as a means of supporting them after the terror unleashed on them by insurgents in the region.
