Under the UNDP Livelihood and Economic Recovery Program in the North East, able bodied young men and women who engage in some form of community work like cleaning public places as seen in the picture below, are paid under the Cash for work scheme (cfw). Pictured below are members of the WASH COMMITTEE (WASH COMM), provided with tools, to carry out sanitation activities in Michika main market, Adamawa state, they were engaged/paid for a period of four months in other to achieve a sustainable level of neatness and also to help inculcate a habit of periodic sanitation in the society. This is to help salvage and maintain whatever wreckage of public facility the insurgency left in its wake.
